The importance of regular and ongoing training for congenital CMV in countries without routine screening: A survey among pediatricians

Objective: Although CMV is the most common congenital infection, studies on how its importance understood by healthcare professionals are limited. This research aims to assess awareness and knowledge of pediatricians regarding infection (cCMVi). Material Methods: The target group study was in Turkey. A 26-item anonymous questionnaire developed, implemented online. Participants were grouped their professional seniority: Group-I, pediatric residents; Group-II, pediatricians; Group-III, specialists any sub-branches pediatrics; Group-IV, associate professors/professors pediatrics. Results: completed 434 respondents. mean duration practice 11.95±7.3 (1-40) years for professionals, 31.14±13.1 (1-60) months residents. Of participants, 85.9% knew that cCMVi screening not applied Turkey 89.4% had previously followed a patient with suspected cCMVi.
